Right now there are two air conditioning men about 10 feet away from me in the garage. Thankfully, the air in my house is working so I'm not quite sure what they're doing... Books of the week: The Life of Pi and Legacy of Sovereign Joy. both have taken a while to get into but that seems to be my case with most books I pick up.
On to other topics...Remember that good little feeling you got down in your stomach or that little mischevious grin you got on your face when you walked into class and saw a substitute standing at the board? "Great! This day will be a no-brainer" or "Sweet! What tricks can I play on her today? She looks young and unexperienced. Gosh, she can't be more than 17." Well, now I've had a chance to be on the receiving end of these thoughts and so far I've thoroughly enjoyed subbing. My favorite thus far: 11th grade history. I didn't really have to teach much but I had good conversations with the students; come to think of it I'm sure I was distracting them from their work. Oh well...I think I was the shortest person in the room during one period and they liked to remind me of that. Anyway, it's been fun to jump from grade to grade everyday and try new things. No mean tricks to report...yet.
Yet another note...I found out where I will be spending the next two years of my life beginning in January. Due to the nature of this blog, let's just say I'll be returning to the country I lived in last summer, working with the same people, and doing kinda the same thing (working with college students). I'm leaving October 22 for training, heading to THE wedding (roro and fefe) and then peacing out.
ok, i hope i left a good and bad blog. that was my intent. just one more q: brian, why were you posting at 6 am?
