Is it a willful sin for a Christian to vote for a pro-choice candidate?

This is a question that was brought up and discussed in my Sunday School class today. It sprang from a discussion with Dr. Russell Moore of Southern Seminary (I would link it, but I don't know if it's available online). I'm sure we all agree that abortion is a heinous sin. Since that is the case, (despite all other issues) can a Christian support a candidate who stands in such stark opposition to this with a clear conscience? I'm not posting this to start a debate, but I think it is an important question that we should all ask ourselves and pray about before voting on Tuesday.

As for your post, I'd say that "whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin" (James 4:17). So I guess it would only be a sin if a person was acting against his convictions, and with multiple convictions, that can be a nuanced thing. So I would say a Christian could vote and not sin depending on the way he/she has construed the issues in his/her head. I guess i'm saying that someone could misread the whole thing according to your opinion and vote for the wrong guy and still not sin; Jesus knows our hearts.
